How to install a FiveM MLO, step by step

An MLO adds a walkable interior to a building in GTA V or replaces one. Installing it takes five minutes as long as your account and server key match. Here are the steps in the order you need them.

1. Buy and log in with Cfx.re

Before paying, you log in to the shop with your Cfx.re account. Use the account that owns your server key. After payment, Tebex grants the asset to exactly that account.

2. Download the asset from the Cfx.re portal

1. Open portal.cfx.re and log in.
2. Go to Assets, then Granted Assets.
3. Download the MLO. You get a ZIP archive.

3. Copy the folder to your server

Extract the archive into your resources folder, for example resources/[plata]/. Keep the folder name exactly as it is in the archive. Escrow-protected resources check their files on start, and a renamed or modified folder fails that check.

4. Add it to server.cfg

Add the resource with ensure, below your framework resources:

ensure plata_hafen

You find the exact name in the extracted folder. If the product page lists a game build, set it as well with sv_enforceGameBuild.

5. Start the server and check in game

Restart the whole server, not only the resource. Drive to the location and check doors, floors and textures. On your first visit the client downloads the files, which takes a few seconds depending on the MLO.

Common errors

"You lack the required entitlement": Your server key belongs to a different Cfx.re account than the purchase. Create the key on the same account, or buy with the account that owns the server.

"Failed to verify protected resource": Someone renamed the folder or changed files. Download the asset again from the portal and copy it unchanged.

See-through walls or missing floors: Usually a second MLO sits at the same spot. Remove the other one or stop loading it with ensure.

Old server artifacts: Escrow needs current artifacts. Update your server if it stops while loading the resource.
